Nicole Miller

Nicole Miller Spring 2012

Whenever you associate the word spring with fashion, it automatically leads you to think of lightweight fabrics, vivid colors , floral prints, lace, and plenty of neutral colors. A lot of designers used the colors black and white in their Spring 2012 Ready to Wear Collection. Honestly, I feel that you can never go wrong with those two colors and I’m guessing that the designers felt that way too. Some designers kept it classy while others displayed a more fun, bold, and edgy twist on the spring garments.
A designer that displayed a lot personality through her garments was Nicole Miller. Nicole Miller, among many others is one of my favorite designers. What I admired about her collection was the theme that she chose. Her collection was based off of the X game sport skateboarding and it did not disappoint at all. She was able to display the energy of this sport by using bold, bright, and vivid patterns at the same time. She used bright yellow, turquoise, and pink trim that she was able to apply to a plethora of looks with black to contrast the garment.  She displayed numerous types of silhouettes, which  included various types of Tubular, wedge and A-line dresses.  There was an equal amount of loose fitting garments including silk button downs with checkerboard prints and a lot of the jackets , blazers and sweaters were loose fitting.  The more fitted garments included bicycle shorts, scuba dresses, pencil skirts, leggings, knit dresses, and peg leg pants otherwise known as the trendy cigarette pants which I feel is a “must have“ . Nicole Miller among many other designers put their own spin on the Scuba dress and I believe that this would be trend for the seasons to come. I feel that this collection best represents a fad due to the color, patterns, and nature in which the designer have chosen to express her outlook on Spring 2012.  This collection displayed both future and current trends, due to the fact the Nicole Miller was able to take the basic spring trends and revolutionize them into a fresh, fun, trendy, bold but edgy youthful way.

Fashion Bandits Away!

So today I helped Kushinda out with her photoshoot for an upcoming magazine. It was so crazy! I had to meet Kushinda @ her house and then I had to go to the showroom to pick up the clothing and shoes (which were soo heavy)! My back is still killing me =(. But overall the shoot went well thanks to Zeko the Photographer and Tommy(Model).  The first half of the shoot was more Avant Garde , but when we were ready to shoot the other half, which was a more urban look it started raining. Here are a few pictures below!
